OAE Experience

The Ann and Peter Law OAE Experience gives gifted period instrument players the chance to work alongside OAE players. The year-long scheme is aimed at players nearing the end of their studies, to help bridge the gap between conservatoire education and a professional career.

Applications for the 2019 OAE Experience Scheme are now open. Here’s all the info on how to apply.

Here’s some feedback on the scheme from previous participants…

‘It was lovely to work with such thoughtful musicians who care about what they do- it epitomised what I love about classical music’

‘Very enjoyable, great coaches and wonderful collaborative approach’

‘It was really nice to work with Maggie (Faultless) in a very creative way playing this amazing music! It was very inspiring and I will remember our experiments for the rest of my life.’

‘The Experience scheme was hugely successful for me – I learnt an incredible amount and am hugely grateful for the opportunity.’

‘I have absolutely loved getting involved with OAE’s fantastic education team! the work that they do is fantastic and they were extremely welcoming to me.’

‘I found the Experience scheme to be a well thought-out, well run, and enjoyable entity to be a part of.’

‘The OAE scheme helped me both musically and personally. I was especially curious to explore classical and early romantic repertoire on period instruments as that was rather new for me. Working directly with professionals helped me gain confidence as a performer. My project fees even enabled me to book a flight to Costa Rica last July where I music volunteered and performed for young musicians at a camp and at the University of Costa Rica. The experience inspired me to create a scheme of my own someday for young musicians from underprivileged backgrounds. An unexpected turn of events that I have the OAE to thank for! I am extremely grateful.’
