  • Thank you for a lovely concert March 29 in Rotterdam. Especially my compliments for the Evangelist (Mark Padmore). He was good to follow even without the text on paper. The ‘Erbarme dich’ was well done by Paula Murrihy, though being a mezzo soprano and not a contra-alto.
2015 was much better than 2014 (other performers).

  • Surely a best-in-a-lifetime performance of the St Matthew Passion (RFH, 2 April)? A thousand thanks to Mark Padmore, all the other singers and the OAE, all singing and playing incomparably, and listening almost as eloquently. Gracefully ‘staged’ too. Unforgettable.

  • Saw last night’s (3 April 2015) superlative performance at St George’s Bristol. Instrumentalists and vocalists in wonderful form. I thought Paula Murrinhy was excellent and the overall atmosphere provided by Mark and the ensemble was dramatic and moving. Are you going to record the St Matthew Passion? I think you should.

  • Is the London performance yet? I will never forget the performance in Amsterdam, I was so deeply moved! Would love to obtain the recording. Best St. Matthews Passion I ever heard in my life!
