You may think you know this music like the back of your hand, but such is the music’s brilliant inventiveness that there is always something to make you sit up and listen afresh, particularly in the hands of tonight’s director and soloist Kati Debretzeni. Plus they’ll be a chance to hear Grammy-Winning Baritone Matthew Rose and his rendition of Telemann’s intriguing Canary Cantata, or to give it its full title, ‘Cantata of funeral music for an artistically trained canary-bird whose demise brought the greatest sorrow to his master.’
