We round off our Gamechangers series with music from one of the unsung heroes of British music, William Boyce.

His ‘serenata’ Solomon was as popular as Handel’s Messiah in its time but its lyrics were considered ‘mildly rude’ and too racy for later, more conservative, tastes, so it lay virtually unperformed after 1800. We hope that modern audiences prove more open-minded…
