For this concert, we join the Opera Rara to delve into opera’s box of lost masterpieces. Together we will be presenting a concert performance of Offenbach’s gem, Fantasio– the story of a young student who pursues his true love against all odds. One of Offenbach’s most daring and innovative operas, Fantasio was a move away from light operetta towards a more romantic style, and is tonight realised by a star cast including Sarah Connolly, conducted by OAE Principal Artist, Sir Mark Elder.
