Our series giving you a guided tour of selected masterpieces returns, this time looking at pieces by Dvorak, Grieg and Elgar.

Unwind with a drink (you can even bring them into the hall with you) and let our presenter and musicians give you a guided tour and performance of music including Elgar’s meltingly beautiful Sospiri and Dvorák’s rich and sonorous Serenade. We’ll explore each piece, pointing out what to listen out for and giving you some background on the music before going on to perform them. Before the 70 minute concert enjoy jazz in the bar and afterwards there’s a chance to meet the musicians.

Bring the whole family – we  recommend the event for children aged 11 and over, and child tickets are just £2.50

  • Hello,

Thoroughly enjoyed the “works” yesterday. Would dearly love to know the name of the additional work thrown in by Mahler, sound wasn’t too good where we sat. Thought the whole piece was executed wonderfully and truly enjoyed the whole evening and style of presentation. Top marks to Richard.

By the way, excellent choice for orchestra to stand and play. This allowed superb individual expression of the different sections,

Additionally many thanks to Rachel for the superb presenter, guide and great humor.

    Your truly
