Hi, I’m Anna and I’m new to the Marketing and Press team at the OAE. I have always admired the work of the Orchestra and can’t wait to get started! Having recently graduated in Music from Oxford University I am really looking forward to pursuing a career in the Arts.

Whilst at University I took a particular interest in the study of Hip Hop, compositions by female composers, and music psychology. Aside from study, I organised my college’s ball: here I found the marketing and communications side one of the most rewarding aspects of the year-long project. My engagement with music started at an early age; raised on the music of Kate Bush, Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana I was exposed to a range of musical styles and could often be found dancing around the kitchen to the Spice Girls! Indeed, it was through performance that I developed an understanding of the possibilities for music-making. Particular performance highlights include working with a Palestinian music group, Dal’Ouna and, as a violist, performing Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphonie with the NYO under Vladimir Jurowski at the BBC Proms in 2012.

I’ll be around for 3-months and you can be sure to hear more from me on the OAE’s blog, on Twitter and on Facebook, and I look forward to meeting you soon at OAE concerts!
