American Friends of the OAE

“a winning surfeit of energy”

The New York Times on the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, August 2009

The OAE is a regular visitor to American shores, including regular appearances at the Lincoln Center.

In recognition of the distinctive approach that the OAE brings to the US, The American Friends of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) is a US-based 501(c)(3) charitable organisation that supports the OAE and help us to raise funds to visit America. AFOAE enables American taxpayers to provide support through tax favourable giving.

In return, American Friends receive last minute booking opportunities for the OAE’s London Southbank Centre concerts, access to priority booking at the prestigious Glyndebourne Opera House and regular updates.

American Friends

You can also benefit from special behind the scenes experiences, opportunities to dine with the players after concerts, to join the OAE on tour and to visit us in our home city of London where you can experience the music of Handel in the city in which he lived and worked for so many years.

“My association with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment has been a very special part of my musical life and I look forward to our exciting plans together.

I encourage you to support this wonderful group of musicians, one of the world’s greatest orchestras, by becoming a Friend of the OAE.”
Sir Simon Rattle, Principal Artist
