“For there is good news yet to hear and fine things to be seen, before we go to paradise by way of Kensal Green”.
Taking its name from the last line of the poem ‘The Rolling English Road’ by GK Chesterton, Paradise in Kensal Rise is the next stop on the OAE’s The Night Shift pub tour.
This popular gastro-pub and music venue, in a fashionable district of West London, offers bohemian charm to its customers and audience members as they relax on leather banquettes and are surrounded by displays of Victorian birdcages, taxidermy and mismatched bits and pieces.
Attracting the likes of Jamie Winstone, Ellie Goulding and Paloma Faith, Paradise rests on the sight of the historic Plough pub, which was frequented in the 1780s by the artist George Morland, proving that the Paradise’s gift for blending fresh ideas alongside the long established remains true to this day.
Not your average boozer, Paradise treats its visitors to a wide choice of events such as regular funk and comedy nights, film screenings and burlesque shows.
