For the Pub Tour we’ve worked with three cutting-edge young composers to write short pieces for us, all composed with the pub environment in mind. On Monday and Tuesday of this week you get a chance to hear the first of them, Statice for String Quartet by Kate Whitley.Read More
We’re pretty damn excited to announce that, thanks to your donations and support, the 2013 Pub Tour is now on sale!
The tour takes in 6 pubs in 3 cities, and will feature the music of 18th century musical super-star Franz Joseph Haydn
Why Haydn? Well, cellist Robin Michael says: ‘Within a single line of music he can make you laugh, cry, dance and shock you with the most audacious of surprises. You can feel his generous spirit, the music bursts with invention, still fresh 200 years on.”
In the first set we’ll have a selection of some of Haydn’s ‘best bits’ and in the second, a complete string quartet. The exact music played will vary from night to night, so there will always be something a little different about each gig.
The tour will also feature 3 brand new pieces by some of today’s brightest composing talents – full details of who is being performed where below.
Each evening will feature 30 minute sets of music at 8.30pm and 9.30pm and doors will open at 7.30pm. While there may be some limited seating at some venues in general these are standing events.
We recommend early booking to secure limited availability discount tickets.
All tickets are subject to a 10% booking fee. Student tickets are £4 – please be sure to bring ID on the night – we WILL check!

As announced earlier today, we’re pretty excited to say that The Night Shift Pub Tour is back for 2013.
Obviously, we didn’t want to do exactly the same thing again (that’s clearly very dull) so we’ve added two major twists this time around.Read More
We’re very excited to announce that The Night Shift Pub Tour is (hopefully) back!
Our first pub tour, last year, was a massive success. We played in 5 packed pubs across London, bringing Purcell, Pints and Pork scratchings to your local. Over 1000 of you came, and we had amazing feedback and some great press attention as well. Even Jude Law came – result!
Now we’re planning our next tour, with a few twists to make it just a little bit different – we’ll release further details later on today.
Last time around, over 50 of you donated amounts large and small to make the tour happen, and that’s why we say ‘hopefully’ above – we need your support again to make this latest tour happen.
This afternoon, as well as releasing information on the tour, we’ll be giving you details of a new crowdfunding campaign. We need to raise £1,500 in just 30 days to make the tour happen. Unfortunately, even if we sell every single ticket we’ll still make a loss – so your crowdfunding support really does count! In return we can offer some fantastic ‘thank yous’, ranging from some tweet love through to your own private Night Shift event, plus of course our popular ‘group hug’ option…
So, keep your eyes on our website, Facebook Page and Twitter feed and we’ll be back later on today with more details on how you can help make our next Night Shift tour a reality.
UPDATE: our crowdfunding page is now live.
