Not all audiences are the same image

And here it is at last, our full brochure for the 2012-2013 concert season at Southbank Centre.

This time we’ve featured members of our audience alongside OAE musicians. Back in January of this year we put out a recruitment campaign asking audience members with what we called a ‘strong look’ to step forward. We had an amazing response and definitely some very very strong looks. We hope the result goes to prove that classical music is for everyone, and that Not all audiences are the same

Over the coming weeks we’ll be profiling everyone featured in the brochure on our blog and showing off the full set of pictures, as we couldn’t quite fit them all into the brochure! Plus, look out for further pictures on banners, programmes and adverts, especially once the concert season starts in September.

Huge thanks go to our Designer and Creative Director Harrison & Co and also to our fantastic photographer Eric Richmond, and of course to all the audience members and musicians who came along to the photoshoot. We’ll soon be releasing a video featuring behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with the designer and photographer. If you can’t wait for it, there is already a little teaser video up…

And so to the music…it’s a typically varied season, with music from Vivaldi through to Schumann, and with a fantastic line-up of artists including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Roger Norrington, Marin Alsop and William Christie, amongst others. A real highlight is the 5-event series Queens, Heroines and Ladykillers, which celebrates strong female characters in opera, for which we’re joined by some amazing vocalists. Last but not least we’ve got a massively expanded TOTS programme (for kids under 6) and our The Works and The Night Shift concert series also continue.

Anyway, enough from us. Happy browsing and we hope you enjoy the brochure. If you’d like a physical copy (available 18 May) drop us a line.
